Blogging Goals

I decided to use this tumblr blog as an accountability journal for the Million Dollar Blog Project. I will set weekly goals and if I don’t meet those weekly goals the penalty will be that the member of the household who does the best job completing their chores will get to choose Sunday Dinner, even if that dinner is ice cream tacos.

Setting Goals

My #1 goal is to get a job outside of my home with regular dependable pay, but since the thought of going into a public place where strangers may talk to me and God forbid accidentally touch me, send chills up my spine and makes me want to vomit, I think I may need some secondary goals.

Anxiety

Goal # 1 Fill the anti-anxiety prescription the doctor gave me.

Goal # 2 Leave the house at least twice a week with someone I trust.

Goal # 3 Have a conversation with someone I don’t know.

Goal # 4 Shake a strangers hand.

Goal # 5 Attempt a job interview.

The new medication (buspar) is supposed to work fairly quickly and is non addictive so I am hopeful. It has no anti-depression qualities so my doctor may add something to help with that if it is needed later.

In the mean time I will also be trying to start a more profitable blog. I have always blogged as a hobby but I read about the Million Dollar Blog Project so I may give it a shot. The blog is not a substitute for an actual job because I know that being an active part of society is crucial to my health.

Most Recent Post from a Foster Mom that Rocks!

The CDC just released a report identifying Foster Kids as at high risk for Toxic Stress. I just wanted to give a shout out to one foster mom who keeps up a close relationship with her foster kids even after they leave her care. A close relationship with a trusted adult is the one thing that can prevent long term health problems from Toxic Stress in children.

The part that bothers me most is the quote at the end that says “She was always dressed well.”  It brought back memories about how much emphasis case workers put on how a child was dressed- as if it’s the greatest possible marker of safety and care taking. Obviously not.  This mom was clearly mentally ill.

The Many Faces of Sarah Belle Lachman. I was trying to get a good sad face picture for a blog post and we ended up taking 51 photos total. I turned them into a photo project to show off what an amazing personality my little girl has.

WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?

The earliest memory I can recall was when I was about 5 or 6 years old waiting to open presents on Christmas morning. I don’t remember any of the gifts I got, just the anticipation.
